Fresh 2025 Harvest from Awarded Producer Sakata family.
Single Cultivar Samidori - carefully harvested with hand-held trimmers, not with ride-on machine harvesters. Tea leaves harvested this way require more steaming and initial roasting.
Shaded in Uji style canopy gardens with double layered Kanreisha fabric just like Hand-picked Samidori.
Fun fact: Sakata Matabei hand-picked fields and machine-trimmed fields are prepared with organic fertilizer.
Despite this year's weather patterns of pre-harvest dryness and harvest rains, this masterful display of dedication is responsible for a quality that rival hand-picked Samidori from a previous harvest - we patiently await for the upcoming release of hand-picked teas(Nov.)
